Kim Gordon, born April 28, 1953 in Rochester, New York, is an American icon of alternative, experimental, punk and noise rock. A founding member of Sonic Youth, she’s known for songs like “Kool Thing” and “Bye Bye”. Her recent solo work includes the 2024 album The Collective—Grammy nominated—and her latest, Play Me, released March 13, 2026. She collaborates with producer Justin Raisen, Dave Grohl, Free Kitten, Body/Head. Gordon has won acclaim across music, art, fashion and writing.
